Lucky Dog Adoption Day

On Sunday, March 14th Fairmount Pet Shoppe will have an adoption day and bake sale fundraiser.  The event will be held from 12-4 at Fairmount Pet Shoppe, 2024 Fairmount Ave.  There will be a few dogs as well as cats available for adoption from the ACCT shelter. Adoption may be the last chance these pets have.  Please consider making it a lucky day for one of these needy pets.  You'll luck out too! Local kids will be out front with yummy baked goods.  All donations for these sweets will beneifit shelter animals.  In order to adopt, please bring with you two forms of ID and your landlord's phone number if you rent. Please call the shoppe for additional information.

Fairmount Pet Shoppe Voted "Better Than Best"!

Fairmount Pet Shoppe feels honored to have been voted "Best Place to Hold a Kitten for Free" in Philadelphia Weekly's "Better Than Best" article.

Sometimes, when your day is long, your boss is angry and your computer is making noises, you just want to go pet something furry. But because of your landlord, allergic boyfriend or lack of money for human food, let alone pet food, you don't have a pet of your own. Fortunately, Fairmount Pet Shoppe will let you drop by and play with the five to eight foster animals (usually kitties, although there’s an occasional bunny and a permanent store dog) that hang out in cages in the window. The nice ladies at the shop are securing their places in heaven by fostering cats in the store (they did 146 adoptions last year), so if you move, drop the allergic boyfriend or get a better job, you can adopt there too.

Another Happy Tail

Little Luke was found abandoned in the Fairmount neighborhood.  Luckily he was rescued from the cold and snow and found his way to Fairmount Pet Shoppe.  His new owners are a wonderful family with two teenage girls, Amber, and Ashle'.  The girls are like Luke's personal fan club and they write "He gets an enormous amount of love. He is very spoiled and frisky." We are so happy that they all found love!

Happy New Year! 146 Adoptions!

Fairmount Pet Shoppe is very proud to announce that we did 146 pet adoptions in 2009! Despite the slow economy and fewer people looking to take on the responsibility of a pet, many people opened up their hearts and homes to a needy pet. We are so happy for all the cats and dogs that we have helped to find their forever homes. This is the best part of our day when we see another homeless pet welcomed into a new family. We wish all of them the best of luck! Lets all hope that we can help even more pets in 2010!
